Weathered deck boards and fence rails

Deck & Fence Cleaning & Restoration

Weather greys wood, roughens the grain and shortens its life. We clean and restore decks and fences without the high pressure that splinters the boards.

Why wood greys and goes rough

Wooden surfaces are vulnerable to weathering. Sun and rain pull the colour out of deck boards and fence pickets, and what's left turns grey, then rough underfoot. Left alone, that discoloration becomes long-term damage.

The usual shortcut makes it worse. A hard blast of high pressure can tear up the soft fibres of the grain and leave splintered boards that catch bare feet and snag clothes. The deck looks cleaner for a week and is weaker for good.

A gentler wash that lifts the grey

We don't use high pressure on wood. We use a safe and effective method to clean and restore decks and fences, so the grey surface comes off and the grain underneath shows again.

That's the work we do for homeowners across Fairfax County and Prince William County, from our base in Woodbridge. Rails, stairs, benches and boards each get washed to suit the wood in front of us, not run through a single setting.

If your deck has gone grey or your fence is green along the bottom rail, call (703) 967-6149 and we'll talk through what the wood needs.

Keeping the wood worth looking at

A proper wash does more than change the colour. Clean wood sheds water better, holds less of the damp that feeds mould, and wears more slowly, which is how the life of the deck gets extended.

Wood is outdoors for good, so it will weather again. Ask us what to expect on your boards and when a repeat wash makes sense. If the driveway or walkway beside the deck needs the same attention, we do that too.

A proper wash extends the life of your wood while making it look refreshed.

Their method, in their own words: “Instead of using high pressure that can cause splintering of the wood, we use a safe and effective method” to clean and restore decks and fences.

Fences get the same treatment as decks. For the surfaces around them, see Concrete Cleaning or House Washing. Questions go to (703) 967-6149.
